The Big Ugly Bill’s Impacts on Montanans:
A Rural Virtual-Town Hall Event
Wednesday
September 10 | 6 pm

The recently passed “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” is a gift to the wealthiest and a gut punch to everyday people. to everyday people. While millions of Americans could see their healthcare or SNAP benefits cut, the top 1% will get an additional tax break that they do not need.
Montana is set to be one of the hardest-hit states in the country. According to the Montana Healthcare Foundation, the changes the bill made to Medicaid could result in tens of thousands of Montanans losing coverage and the state losing billions of federal dollars over the next ten years. These impacts will disproportionately affect rural communities, as about two-thirds of Montana Medicaid enrollees reside in rural areas.
Along with these dangerous cuts to these social programs, HR1 slashed a variety of clean energy incentives that had the potential to lower people’s power bills and upgrade our electric grid to the 21st century. The passage of this bill deals a major blow to an emerging economic sector that had the potential to bring big economic and sustainability benefits to our communities.
The purpose of this event is to hear from Montanans about these harmful impacts to our communities and begin to get a sense of where we can go from here to protect the places and people we love.
We hope you can join us on September 10th at 6pm!
