What are donor-advised funds?
A donor-advised fund, or “DAF,” is an increasingly common way for donors to support the non-profits of their choosing. These funds, often set up through financial institutions or community foundations, act as centralized charitable giving methods. A donor can make a one-time contribution to a DAF and receive full immediate tax benefits for that contribution, but distribute the funds from that DAF over several years.
