2025 Report
Northern Plains had a very busy 2025! In addition to all the great work done by our members, we were fully engaged in our state legislature, where we fought hard, won on our issues, and learned valuable lessons along the way. Of course, we do not retreat from challenges, as we spent nearly six months developing a new strategic plan to dig deeper into organizing to build the people power we need to create lasting change. We are confident that building strong relationships across Montana will better prepare us for the historic and significant challenges that 2026 will bring. Yes, we are ready and determined to have our voices heard to protect our land, water, air, our unique quality of life, and yes, our democracy.

2024 Report
Northern Plains Resource Council has a lot to be proud of in 2024. We undertook new campaigns including a fight in Eastern Montana to stop a carbon injection
pipeline project and organizing the first ever Montana Soil Health Week this past spring. Our 13 local affiliates were involved in a wide range of community issues, and expanding the use of solar energy was a big priority for several groups. Internally, we accomplished our first Collective Bargaining Agreement with our now unionized staff. We are so grateful to the members, leaders, and supporters of Northern Plains for your hard work and your dedication to our land, air, water, and unique quality of life in Montana!

2023 Report
From the farms and ranches of eastern Montana to the state’s western mountain ranges, Northern Plains members accomplished a lot together in 2023! Whether standing side-by-side in the halls of the legislature or sitting across kitchen tables breaking bread and sharing ideas, Northern Plains members worked tirelessly to better our communities, one campaign at a time. Our 2023 Annual Report recaps major campaign wins, legislative victories, affiliate accomplishments, media highlights, and all of the amazing successes of our members last year.
