Annalise joined the Northern Plains staff in 2025. She grew up in Louisiana, which gave her a love for exploring the great outdoors, and the people and critters who live there. She received her BA in Political Science, which allowed her to focus her studies on global and local approaches to environmental policy. This helped her understand that communities are the most powerful protectors of lands and waters. She spent time researching the role of storytelling as a key part of community organizing around environmental issues, and loves that she can see this play out in the work she does now. She staffs Eastern Montana Resource Council, Northern Plains’ affiliate in eastern Montana, as well as our campaign to protect Carter County, Montana from proposed carbon capture and sequestration development. Her favorite part of this work is getting to make real connections over a shared mission with people she’d never meet otherwise.
