Soil Crawl 2019: Animal Impact

September 28 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

The final event in our 2019 Soil Crawl series is here! Please join Ivan and Chia Thrane at Healthy Meadows (outside of Red Lodge) for a lively, informative discussion about the connection between plants, animals, and humans. Tour their operation at Crane Dance Ranch and see firsthand how they use goats to improve soil health. This is an opportunity to learn, discuss, and rethink our relationship with plants and animals in order to better understand our landscapes!

The Thranes work with goats to graze not only their own land, but to help other landowners and agencies control weeds and sustainably manage pasture through animal impact. Their 10 years of intensive grazing experience provides valuable insight, and even more valuable questions.

Fred Provenza will join Ivan and Chia for a lively, informative discussion about the connection between plants, animals and humans.
We’ll conclude our day with a goat barbecue and bluegrass music. We look forward to seeing you there!
