“Living with Oil and Gas” Seminar & Social

October 17 @ 6:00 pm

Central Montana Resource Council presents “Living with Oil & Gas in the Rural West,” a FREE seminar at 6 PM on Thursday, October 17, at the Lewistown Public Library.

Speaker Julia Haggerty will share her research on the experiences of landowners and communities in the rural West (and Montana) that host large-scale energy development. Haggerty is an associate professor of Geography at Montana State University and the Montana Institute on Ecosystems.

Next, Stephanie Ewing will offer an overview of water quality issues in central Montana and how it relates to oil and gas development. Ewing is an associate professor of Soil Biochemistry at Montana State University.

Doors to the seminar open at 6:00 PM for a short social and refreshments! The presentation will begin at 6:30 and will include time for questions. At 7:45 PM, two winning tickets to Central Montana Resource Council’s annual gun raffle will be drawn!

Still looking for raffle tickets? You can find them at The Sports Center or at Triangle Guns, both in Lewistown. Tickets will also be sold at the October 17 event, with proceeds supporting CMRC’s work to advocate for clean energy and protect clean water in central Montana.
