Beartooth Alliance’s Soda Butte Creek Celebration!

Soda Butte Creek has been polluted by mine tailings for more than 80 years until local reclamation efforts restored the world-class trout stream in 2015. Please join Beartooth Alliance, the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, and Montana DEQ to celebrate the removal of Soda Butte Creek from the DEQ’s “Impaired Waters” list on July 18 in Silver Gate.

Memorial for Tom Henderson: Tom ,DEQ’s Project Manager for the McLaren Reclamation Project, passed away suddenly in October 2018. Tom, who spearheaded the cleanup and coordinated the data collection for delisting, said his work on McLaren was the highlight of his career. Without Tom, none of this would’ve been possible.
