Thank you for joining Northern Plains Resource Council’s 2020 Soil Summit! We were thrilled to host such a experienced and knowledgeable roster of speakers, who explored how policy and financing tools can promote soil health and the adoption of soil health practices.

Our list of guest speakers included:

Wayne Honeycutt of the Soil Health Institute, and Duane Hovorka of the Izaak Walton League who presented on a comprehensive soil health soil health strategy and federal policies impacting soil.

Brian Shobe of the California Agriculture and Climate Network, Liz Moran-Stelk of the Illinois Stewardship Alliance, and Isabelle Jenniches of the New Mexico Healthy Soil Working Group, shared what their respective states have achieved on soil health policy and how it’s making a difference.

Robyn O’Brien of rePlant Capital, provided the keynote address, sharing how the adoption of soil health can be facilitated through novel financing strategies. Per her request, Robyn’s keynote was not recorded.

Jennifer O’Connor of Guidelight Strategies dug further into financing soil health, sharing currently available opportunities as well as emerging strategies.
